I started bow hunting back in 1979. My first only deer that I ever got was a young 4 pointer, or “Y” buck back in 1989. Since it was my first deer, I got the head mounted by a taxidermist.

I had given up hunting for about 20 years, to pursue my other passion of surf fishing.

In 2010, I decided to take up bow hunting again, and my first kill wound up being another “Y” buck with even smaller antlers than my first back in 1989.

I’d managed to take several more deer over the years after that, and then, finally in 2016, I finally got to take a mature 8 pointer.
